Labour Ministry trade unionists going on warning strike against working conditions

Members of the trade unions affiliated to the Federation of Trade Unions of the Ministry of Labour will launch a warning strike on Wednesday, from 8:00 to 10:00, in protest against the current working conditions and wages that they consider unfair, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.

The trade unionists warn that, in the absence of immediate solutions, they will launch a general strike on 27 November 2023.

"In the context of the general strike, we inform you that work in all our institutions will be stopped indefinitely. Unfortunately, the way in which the political class has understood how to relate to the various social categories, the measures adopted, as well as the measures not adopted, the arbitrary attitude, all this has led to this radical decision - strike," the document reads.

According to the quoted source, "the motivation behind this warning strike" is supported by: non-optimised working conditions, staff shortage, unfair wages, non-payment of overtime, instability of workplaces, non-optimised computer applications, non-updating of the labour inspector/social inspector status.

"Our members found it necessary to resort to this form of protest in order to draw attention to the problems that have been communicated on numerous occasions to the political class and remain unsolved, a political class that has ignored and continues to ignore the reality exposed by us," the release also reads.
