The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) announced on Wednesday that the lifting of restrictions on liquids in carry-on luggage will only be done at airports where the new certified detection algorithm will be installed.

"The recertification, at European level, of a model of security control equipment also used in airports in Romania has created the premises for lifting restrictions on the transport of liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) in carry-on luggage. The transport of LAGs in containers with a capacity of up to two liters will, however, be possible only after the installation of the new certified detection algorithm, its integration into the hardware requirements on the basis of which the certification was carried out and the completion of the testing stages for acceptance according to European regulations," the SRI informed on its Facebook account.

At the same time, the Romanian Intelligence Service mentions that the lifting of restrictions will be possible exclusively in airports in Romania that have recertified and fully updated equipment.
