The Braila County Lipovan Russian Community (CRL) is organizing as of April 1 a free introductory tailoring course for Ukrainian women refugees.

"Against the backdrop of the conflict on Romania's border, Braila's Lipovan Russian Community comes to the aid of the Ukrainian refugees and our fellow ethnics with a free introductory tailoring course, paving their way to potential employment. The training will be provided by Mrs. Mariana Avram Parfenie on a voluntary basis, every Friday between 17.00 and 19.00, starting with April 1. Ethnic group members who want to learn can also attend in order to socialize with the Ukrainian women and help them learn Romanian more easily. We look forward to seeing you," is the announcement posted online by the Lipovan Russian Community.

Braila County's Lipovan Russian community - Romania's second largest after the one in Tulcea - has initiated since the beginning of the Ukraine war an extensive campaign to help Ukrainian refugees, Agerpres.ro informs.

"Our hearts go to those who are suffering in these moments, to those who have lost loved ones, to those who have fled the war and are seeking refuge away from their homeland. We invite all compassionate people, our dedicated fellow ethnics, to support the local authorities' efforts to help the Ukrainian citizens in distress. Speakers of Russian who wish to help the local authorities with translation jobs are kindly requested to announce their availability schedule. (...) If there are families who can provide shelter, accommodation, please let us know. Traditionally, old rite believers have shouldered the suffering of their fellow people and helped them according to their possibilities, without asking for anything in return. Let us join forces once again in order to do the Christian good," is the call launched right at the beginning of the war by CRL Braila.
