Local authorities in Bucharest intervene to remove snow

Local authorities in the capital are intervening to clear snow with equipment and anti-slipping material on bridges, ramps, slopes, boulevards and secondary streets.

* The City Hall of Sector 1 has started the preventive treatment of the roadway, to reduce the risk of slipping and maintain road traffic in safe conditions.

The interventions will continue depending on the evolution of weather conditions.

* The City Hall of Sector 2 announced that, in the context of the weather conditions on Thursday evening, the sanitation operator is carrying out continuous measures to ensure traffic safety in this administrative-territorial area.

Anti-slipping material is being applied on ramps and bridges, and, depending on the evolution of weather conditions, the equipment will intervene in each area to apply the necessary treatments.

* The teams of the Sector 3 City Hall are in the field and spreading anti-slipping material on the main roads, alleys and heavily trafficked areas, in the context of the negative temperatures forecast for the entire night.

Representatives of the local authority wrote on Facebook on Thursday that the actions aim to prevent the formation of ice and ensure safe traffic, both for pedestrians and for traffic participants.

In a response from the Sector 3 City Hall sent at the request of AGERPRES, the local authority informed that it is intervening with 30 trucks and 30 manual operators. The stock of materials for snow removal is 4,300 tons.

If necessary, the local authority will act with 60 machines and 30 manual operators.

* The Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Baluta, wrote on Facebook on Thursday that the people who deal with snow removal have gone out into the field and applied preventive treatments, so that the moisture on the asphalt does not turn into ice.

According to him, those who deal with snow removal are on standby and depending on the evolution of the situation, they will continue applying preventive treatments against frost, especially in areas classified as "emergency 1", namely on boulevards, bus stations, access areas to hospitals and other public institutions, as well as on bridges, passages and on ramped streets.

* According to a response from the Sector 5 City Hall sent on Thursday, at the request of AGERPRES, the local authorities
are doing everything possible to ensure that traffic in Sector 5 flows in the best conditions, including during winter.


* In Sector 6, a number of 53 trucks and 80 employees from Sector 6 Sanitation and the Public Domain Administration and Urban Development Sector 6 intervene for snow removal.

Representatives of the local authority wrote on Facebook on Thursday that the local authority machines intervene preventively with anti-slip material on bridges, ramps, slopes, boulevards and secondary streets. If necessary, the number will be supplemented.
