The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), through the Managing Authority for the Aquaculture and Fisheries Program (AM POPAM), announces the launch of the call for projects with a financial allocation of approximately 54 million euros, which supports the implementation of local development strategies in areas where fishing and aquaculture are practiced.
This initiative aims to stimulate local economies and promote sustainable community development through community-led local development strategies (CLLD). AM POPAM has allocated approximately 54 million euros for the implementation of local development strategies that encourage innovation, diversification and community involvement in regions where fishing and aquaculture are practiced. Thus, the maximum total amount that can be accessed by Local Action Groups (LAGs) is 13.4 million euros for activities to operate and animate local development strategies," a press release from the relevant ministry, sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday, shows.
According to the cited source, eligible applicants to receive funding may be partnerships formed by representatives of local socio-economic interests from the public and private sectors, established on the basis of Government Ordinance No. 26/2000 on associations and foundations, with subsequent amendments and supplements.
The priorities of the call also aim to: develop a sustainable blue economy, support community-led initiatives and diversify activities in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
At the same time, the call focuses on supporting local communities' strategies in decision-making, responding to needs and capitalizing on opportunities in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, and contributing to the development of sustainable and resilient local economies.
