The first edition of the MAKE it in ROMANIA international conference, an event dedicated to strengthening the national defence industry and organised under the aegis of Black Sea Defence & Aerospace (BSDA), takes place in Bucharest on Wednesday.
The event will host two panels, and the Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Senator Nicoleta Pauliuc and Romanian Association for Smart City (ARSC) President Eduard Dumitrascu are invited to the official opening, agerpres reports.
The first panel will feature National Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu, Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Minister Radu Miruta, MEP Vasile Dincu, former minister of Defence, as well as representatives of Hanwha Aerospace, Bluespace Technologies, Marctel and Romarm.
The second panel will include Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery Mihai Jurca, ARCTIS Vice President Cristina Dragomirescu, Mayor of Galati Ionut-Florin Pucheanu, European Investment Bank's Director for Romania Marius Cara, as well as representatives of Rheinmetall, Romarm and Thales.
The event brings together more than 700 participants from 23 countries, representatives of the Romanian Government, European financial institutions and local authorities, along with international and domestic companies from the defence industry and complementary sectors.
The conference proceedings will cover the entire process of developing the capabilities of the national defence industry, from identifying operational needs and accessing financing mechanisms to concluding partnerships and integrating civil industries into dual-use production.
