Mastercard, Banca Transilvania extend McLaren F1 partnership to Austrian and Hungarian races

Mastercard and Banca Transilvania are expanding their collaboration with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 team, adding two more races to their partnership: the 2026 Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg and the 2027 Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring.

Under the new agreement, the Mastercard and Banca Transilvania logos will feature on McLaren's MCL40 car, the steering wheel, and on the helmets of drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The move strengthens the visibility of both brands within one of the world's most-watched sporting competitions, a release informs, agerpres reports.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team in Austria and Hungary. It is another opportunity to bring Banca Transilvania and Romania into a strong international context, connected to top-level performance and innovation. For our customers, this partnership represents both the pride of this achievement and access to premium experiences inspired by McLaren," said Banca Transilvania CEO Omer Tetik, as quoted in the release.

"This season marks a new, energetic chapter in our collaboration with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 team and Banca Transilvania. Being right in the middle of the action, where performance and technology set the pace, is where we feel most at home. We want the energy of the circuit to be reflected in experiences that stay vivid in our customers' memories long after the finish line," said Cosmin Vladimirescu, General Manager of Mastercard Romania and Croatia.

The two companies are preparing exclusive campaigns, benefits, prizes, and special events for motorsport fans among their clients.

Banca Transilvania holds a 23% market share, serves five million clients, and employs more than 10,000 people. Mastercard operates in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
