MEP Dacian Ciolos on Sunday morning voted in Zalau for competent, honest and hardworking people, in the local elections and in the elections to the European Parliament.
"I voted this morning for competent people, for honest people, for hardworking people, both in the local elections and in the elections to the European Parliament," stated Dacian Ciolos.
He urged his fellow citizens to vote, emphasizing the importance of electing local administrators who are close to the citizens and also competent representatives in the European Parliament.
"This is my main message: good people, come to vote. I am convinced that you are interested in who will manage you at the local level, because they are the people closest to you. But don't forget that we also have the European Parliament election and there are many decisions taken at the European level that impact you and us directly, so you should take great interest in this election too. For it's important whom do we send to represent us there, in the European Parliament, and we should send competent people, we should send people who can represent us there with dignity and who know what they are talking about, who don't go there just for political sinecures," added the REPER MEP.
Dacian Ciolos voiced his hope that people would make an informed and wise decision today, while stressing that today's vote is not only for the future, but also for the present.
