The Ministry of Education and Research announced on Friday that it has recently started a process of analyzing existing legislation and norms in order to streamline the prevention, identification and sanctioning of cases of violence.
At the same time, the ministry states that it monitors through internal procedures cases of violence in various forms in the education-research system, some of which have been reported publicly, and reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy for such acts.
"The fact that we are witnessing a resurgence of violence - in various forms - at a social level does not mean that this must be tolerated in the educational environment; on the contrary, the educational environment must show zero tolerance for such acts and, moreover, must make efforts to always be a model of decent conduct between people (behavior, language, etc.), which will then positively influence social interactions," declared the Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David, quoted in a press release.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research remind that there are specific procedures that can and must be applied to prevent and address such unacceptable facts for the education-research system and to generate a positive impact on the safety and well-being of people in the system.
Also, recently, the Minister of Education and Research expanded the possibility of reporting, including anonymously, such unacceptable acts, with the aim of facilitating their prevention, identification and sanctioning.
