More than 160,000 children from disadvantaged backgrounds received 500 lei vouchers for clothes and school supplies, while another 200,000 cards will be delivered in the next period to the county school inspectorates for new beneficiaries, the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE) announced.
According to the quoted source, children in preschool state education benefit from a support worth 500 lei, provided that the monthly income per family member is up to twice the level of the minimum guaranteed income for a single person (298 lei) and pupils from primary and secondary state education, if the average net monthly income per family member, achieved in July of each year, is a maximum of 50pct of the gross national minimum wage (1,275 lei), told Agerpres.
This year, through the National Support Scheme for the most disadvantaged pupils provided by Gov't's Emergency Ordinance No. 133/2020, 405,000 preschoolers and pupils will receive help for school supplies and clothing, compared to 245,000 beneficiaries in the previous school year.
More than 200,000 cards have already been issued for the children who became eligible this year, which shall be delivered in the next period to the county school inspectorates.
