Moody's Ratings has upgraded both Banca Transilvania (BT)'s long-term deposit rating and its short-term and long-term issuer ratings, BT informs in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

The agency raised the bank's long-term deposit rating to Baa1 from Baa2, the maximum rating, in the context of the country rating. Moody's changed the outlook to negative, similar to that of Romania, agerpres reports.

At the same time, BT's issuer ratings were updated to Baa2 from Baa3, with a stable outlook.

"This stable outlook on the issuer ratings reflects the rating agency's expectation that Banca Transilvania - due to its financial performance, capital and profitability - will remain resilient, despite macroeconomic challenges. The confirmation of the base rating (Ba1) and the other types of ratings by Moody's reflects the bank's solid capitalization, ample liquidity and robust profitability, supported by its leading position in Romania and efficient cost optimization," the press release reads.

Banca Transilvania has been benefiting from the assessment of two international rating agencies, one of them being Moody's Ratings, since 2023.
