More than 25 tonnes of waste from Germany, which were registered as shoes and clothes, were blocked by the Romanian authorities upon entering the country through the northwestern Bors II Border Crossing Point, informed on Tuesday, Territorial Inspectorate of the Oradea Border Police, told Agerpres.
The waste was brought to Romania with two trucks driven by Romanian drivers, and were checked by the Bihor border guards, on suspicions regarding the legality of the transport.
The border police requested authorized support from the representatives of the Bihor County Commissariat within the National Environmental Guard and representatives of the Bihor County Commissariat for Consumer Protection. Since the drivers did not present the documentation required by law for the import of these products, the authorities denied the entry of the trucks into Romania, the waste being returned to the shipping companies.
