A total of 657 new cases of measles were registered last week, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) said on Wednesday.
According to INSP, since the beginning of the reporting period, January 1, 2023, there have been 18 deaths due to measles.
A total of 19,449 confirmed cases of measles were reported between January 1, 2023 and June 23, 2024 in all counties of the country and in Bucharest.
The most cases were recorded in Brasov - 2,096 and Mures - 1,235 counties, as well as in the Capital - 1,696.
During the period December 6, 2023 - June 23, 2024, according to data extracted from the National Electronic Register of Vaccinations (RENV), 179,566 doses of MMR vaccine were used, of which 29,625 doses were used for children aged between 9 and 11 months.
