Romania's national motor vehicle production fell by 2.6% in 2025, year-over-year, to 545,510 units, according to data published by the Association of Romania's Automobile Manufacturers (ACAROM).
According to the same statistics, in December 2025, 39,651 vehicles were produced in Romania, down 4.13% from 41,358 units in the same period of 2024. Of the total reported at the end of 2025, 21,655 units were produced at the Dacia plant in Mioveni and 17,996 units at the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova, agerpres reports.
For the entire 2025, motor vehicle production in Romania reached 545,510 units, 2.6% below the production of the previous year. Dacia contributed 297,182 units, and Ford Otosan 248,328 units.
As for new vehicle registrations in Romania, ACAROM data show that in 2024 they reached 156,803 units (+3.77% from 2024), of which 8,849 were all electric vehicles (-9.7%) and 77,140 hybrid vehicles (+31.9%).
In the ranking of new car brands, Dacia ranked first, with 45,738 units, followed by Toyota (15,893 units), Renault (11,482), Skoda (11,299), Volkswagen (9,783), Hyundai (9,352), Ford (7,345), Mercedes (5,488), BMW (5,430) and Suzuki (4,735).
At the same time, used cars registered for the first time locally reached 360,103 units in 2025, up 9.51% from the previous year.
