National Bank launches gold coin dedicated to The Votive Plaques from Germiasa

As of December 29, 2025, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin dedicated to the History of Gold - The Votive Plaques from Germisara.

On the obverse, the coin will show details of the votive plates unearthed at Geoagiu-Bai (Germisara), the face value '10 LEI', the inscription 'ROMANIA', the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue '2025'.

On the reverse, the coin will show a detail featuring the goddess Diana hunting, the inscriptions 'PLACUTELE VOTIVE DE LA GERMISARA' and 'ISTORIA AURULUI' in an arc.

The gold coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by booklets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania, Agerpres informs.

The maximum mintage is 1,000 gold coins.

The selling price for the gold coin, including the booklet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 1,500.00, VAT excluded.

The gold coins dedicated to the History of Gold - The Votive Plaques from Germisara are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The coins are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Iasi and Timisoara.
