The Administration of the National Cultural Fund announces the launch of the call for projects within the I/2026 Funding Session, intended to support cultural projects, which will open on September 1, 2025.
According to a website https://www.afcn-proiecte.ro/, the budget available for this session is 53,900,000 RON and covers the 12 funding areas - arts, theater, music, dance, digital art and new media, cultural intervention, education through culture, promotion of written culture, tangible cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage, creative residencies, repetitive projects and contests, agerpres reports.
Applications for funding cultural projects and programs can be uploaded to the SDFC platform - the Digital System for Cultural Financing processes (fonduri-cultura.ro) between September 1 and 30.
Possession of a qualified electronic signature by the legal representative or an authorized person is a mandatory condition for uploading a funding application. Applicants who have not participated in previous sessions will first need to create an access account in SDFC.
Non-reimbursable funding will be provided for cultural projects carried out between January 2026 and November 15, 2026. Programs that are co-financed from other public funds that apply minimis schemes are not eligible for non-reimbursable funding from the National Cultural Fund.
According to the existing framework, a cultural operator can register a maximum of two cultural offers per session, of which only one is a multi-annual program, provided that it does not have one in progress. In this session, the maximum amount that can be requested for a project is 250,000 RON, the cited source specifies.
Detailed information is available on the page www.afcn-proiecte.ro/apel-finantare.html.
Also on September 1, the call for applications opens for experts interested in getting involved in the evaluation process of grant applications. They can register or activate their candidacy in the new SDFC platform (fonduri-cultura.ro), requiring a valid qualified electronic signature.
Registrations in the system are made by completing an expert evaluator application. Applications can be registered by completing a personal profile, selecting the call and the area of expertise. An evaluator can register for a maximum of two thematic areas of expertise (including multi-annual programs).
Information regarding the registration procedure is available at: www.afcn-proiecte.ro/apel-finantare.html.
The deadline for registering cultural offers and evaluator candidacies is September 30, 5:00 p.m.
