The new edition of the National Photography Salon, "Fotogeografica 2025", will be inaugurated at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, on December 2.

The project is carried out by the Student Culture House from Bucharest, under the aegis of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, with the support of the Babes-Bolyai University.

According to a press release from the organizers sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, the event will also launch the 2025 edition catalogue, which brings together the award-winning photographs in the three sections of the competition: cultural heritage, natural landscape and wildlife, in both the student and open categories, as well as a selection of the most valuable images from the competition's photo gallery.

The exhibition will be open to the public from December 2, 2025, to January 15, 2026 and presents a selection of over 1,800 photographs submitted by 275 participants from across the country.

"Fotogeografica is one of the most prestigious and long-standing cultural initiatives at the national level, through which natural and cultural heritage is promoted. At the same time, Fotogeografica remains one of the few platforms that also seeks meaning, not just the aesthetical dimension," the organisers emphasise.

The event is part of the cultural programme dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Romanian Geographical Society.
