The National Research Authority (ANC) announced on Thursday the launch for public debate of the Information Package for the "Postdoctoral Research Projects - PD2026" competition, part of the National Research, Development and Innovation Plan.
According to the ANC, this initiative represents an important step in supporting young researchers, PhDs, to consolidate their scientific careers and continue research activities initiated during their doctoral studies, within institutions in Romania.
The document subject to consultation includes the general framework of the competition, the eligibility conditions, the evaluation criteria, the implementation principles and the essential operational provisions for the preparation of project proposals. The package constitutes a reference resource for researchers at the beginning of their journey, ensuring transparency and predictability in access to competitive funding.
"In a complex and challenging fiscal-budgetary context for the research environment, this competition represents an essential opportunity to consolidate human capital and to truly support the new generation of researchers, so that their innovative ideas benefit from the optimal development and impact framework. The call is part of the National Research Authority's commitment to launch, in 2026, new research project competitions, in accordance with international best practices, with the aim of bringing added value to the economy and society and to retain highly specialized human resources in Romania," ANC representatives say on Facebook.
Proposals and observations regarding the content of the PD2026 Information Package can be submitted until March 21, 2026.
