Nearly 50 mountain rescue interventions in past 24 hours; 20 persons hospitalized

Nearly 50 calls requesting the emergency intervention of mountain rescue were recorded in past 24 hours, 20 persons being transported to the hospital for medical attention, Agerpres reports.

In the past 24 hours, the National Mountain Rescue Dispatch received 49 calls requesting the emergency intervention of mountain rescue, most coming from Gorj County (7).

Six calls were received for the Lupeni Mountain Rescue, 4 each for Bihor, Maramures and Sinaia Mountain Rescue, 3 each for the Busteni, Borsa, and Suceava Mountain Rescue services.

Two calls each were made for the Caras Severin - Muntele Mic, Mures, Voineasa, Harghita and Hunedoara Mountain services.

In the past 24 hours interventions also occurred in the areas serviced by the Brasov City, Alba, Prahova, Valcea and Mehedinti Mountain Rescue services.

According to the Mountain Rescue service, the interventions saw the saving of 58 persons. 20 of them being turned over to the Ambulance or Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) to be transported to the hospital.

Another 26 calls were received to request advice and information about ski routes and tourist routes in mountain areas.
