The National Accreditation Body of Romania (RENAR) is considering the development of new accreditation schemes for areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and circular economy, RENAR Chairman Fanel Iacobescu said on Tuesday at an event organised on World Accreditation Day.
According to RENAR officials, the theme of this year's edition was " Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation.", agerpres reports.
"RENAR is the only accreditation body in Romania that has the necessary levers to certify performance in essential areas and is open to developing new accreditation schemes that respond to technological developments and ensure compliance in emerging sectors, such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and circular economy," Iacobescu is quoted as saying in a RENAR press release.
On January 1, 2026, the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) merged into Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI).
