The new orders of the manufacturing industry increased by 6.9 percent in the first eight months of this year compared to the similar period of the previous year, a press release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent on Monday to agerpres reveals.
"The new orders of the manufacturing industry, in the period 1 January - 31 August 2016, in comparison to the period 1 January - 31 August 2015, have increased overall by 6 percent, because of the growth recorded in the capital goods industry (12.7 percent) and in the durable goods industry (+9.7 percent). The intermediate goods industry dropped by 0.2 percent. The consumer goods industry remained at the same level," the document reveals.
According to the release, in August 2016, compared to the previous month, the new orders dropped by 4.5 percent following the decline recorded in the consumer goods industry (-9.8 percent), the intermediary goods industry (-4.9 percent) and the capital goods industry (-4.3 percent). The durable goods industry increased by 16.1 percent.
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, they increased by 17 percent following the growths recorded in the capital goods industry (+29.3 percent), the intermediate goods industry (+8.3 percent) and the consumer goods industry (+2.7 percent). The new orders in the durable goods industry dropped by 11.3 percent.
