AGERPRES special correspondent Oana Ghita reports: President Nicusor Dan, who participated on Tuesday in Paris in the Coalition of the Willing summit, declared later that evening that the meeting has worked out a military document outlining the terms of security guarantees for Ukraine, the sharing of responsibilities and the coordination structure.

The head of the state reiterated that Romania will not send troops to Ukraine.

"It will no longer be the situation we had at the start of the war, four years ago. On the one hand, a public document was adopted by all the states participating in this Coalition of the Willing. Following the work carried out by the technical teams, chiefs of staff, security advisors and others, a military document was hammered out, which is not public; it sets out in detail how these security guarantees will be implemented, what are the responsibilities each of the participants in this Coalition commits to and who coordinates each component of the guarantees. Very importantly, as I mentioned, the United States of America is part of these security guarantees, proving that there is a transatlantic partnership and sending a message of unity and deterrence to Russia," Nicusor Dan told a press conference organized at the Romanian Embassy in Paris after the meeting hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The purpose of the meeting in France was to define security guarantees for Ukraine once peace is achieved.

Later, in a post on his X account, the president stressed that Romania is ready to do its part by continuing the multidimensional support to Ukraine and by strengthening security in the Black Sea region.

"We agreed on the need for continued support for Ukraine and strong security guarantees, preventing another war in our region. Peace negotiations have reached a critical phase and our unity and coordination are more important than ever. All participants in the #CotW strongly support U.S.-led efforts. Our common aim is to achieve a just and lasting peace, based on respect for international law," Nicusor Dan wrote on his X page.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the meeting at the Elysee Palace.
