President Nicusor Dan declared on Wednesday that he will encourage investments that bring state-of-the-art technology to Romania, new well-paid jobs and that, by increasing domestic production, will help reduce the trade deficit.
The clarifications were made after the meeting held in London with Romanian businessmen, but also with representatives of the British business environment.
"In London, in one of the most competitive economic ecosystems in the world, I had an applied dialogue with Romanian businessmen from the United Kingdom. The message from the business environment was clear: there is a need for greater openness from the Romanian state, authentic collaboration and functional partnerships. Entrepreneurs emphasized the importance of institutional support for accelerating digitalization and supporting start-ups, as essential factors for development and innovation," the head of state wrote on Facebook.
At the same time, he pointed out, the meeting with representatives of the British business environment reconfirmed Romania's commitment to strengthening trade and economic relations with the United Kingdom and to encouraging British investors to continue coming to our country.
"I will continue to encourage investments that bring state-of-the-art technology to Romania, new well-paid jobs and that, by increasing domestic production, will help us reduce the trade deficit. Innovation, supporting entrepreneurship and building a solid bridge between the diaspora and Romania remain priorities for the sustainable development of our country," Nicusor Dan said.
