President Nicusor Dan declared on Thursday, regarding the repatriation of Romanians in the Middle East, that the Romanian state is currently controlling this situation.

"I don't have much information. I have learnt information as much as I could in these minutes, together with the advisors but the scenario of who did what has not yet crystallized and I don't want to talk before things are well established in terms of the actual situation. On the general issue, I had a discussion just yesterday with the foreign minister, together with her representatives, about the situation of Romanians who are in different Gulf countries. The foreign minister and her team came up with precise data about how many Romanians have contacted the consular services and the Foreign Ministry's services in each of these countries, about the criteria, about the calendar of flights that they are going to make for the most vulnerable, children," said Nicusor Dan, when asked about the scandal between Foreign Minister Oana Toiu and former Prime Minister Victor Ponta regarding his daughter and whether Oana Toiu should resign considering accusations that the Foreign Ministry did nothing about the repatriation of Romanians.

The president added that the Romanian state is controlling this situation at the moment.

"Of course, every time you organize a matter like this that you have never organized before, it happens, more people call the same one or two people who have a different work rhythm normally, but all in all, the Romanian state is controlling this situation at the moment", Nicusor Dan also said in a press conference held at the end of his official visit to Poland.
