The organizational model of large Finnish companies represents a possible path for Romarm as well, said president Nicuşor Dan on Tuesday on the X platform.
The head of state visited the VTT Technical Research Centre in Espoo, Finland, one of the most important European institutions in the field, which collaborates with Romanian partners in projects funded by the European Union, targeting areas such as mining, the food industry, waste management or forestry.
"The organizational model of large Finnish companies represents a possible path for Romarm as well. We agreed that we will facilitate cooperation between Finnish and Romanian companies in this industry and that we will explore partnerships in a joint meeting in 2026, in Bucharest or Helsinki," the head of state wrote on the online platform.
The President pointed out that some of VTT's collaborating universities and companies, which offer dual-use products and solutions, are already in contact with counterparts in Romania to develop joint projects.
"It is a good example of how we can effectively use diplomacy to generate positive economic results. I also had a discussion with representatives of PIA, the organization that brings together the most relevant companies in the Finnish defense industry. Finland's experience provides relevant benchmarks for revitalizing the defense industry, with a view to creating well-paid jobs, attracting investments in cutting-edge technologies, strengthening industrial cooperation within the EU and increasing exports," the head of state wrote.
President Nicusor Dan is in Finland for the Summit of the EU Eastern Flank States.
