The number of registrations of natural and legal persons increased by 23.15% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, totaling 110,894 registrations, of which 66.58% were Private Limited Companies (SRL), according to data compiled by the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
Most registrations were recorded in Bucharest, namely 24,982 (+18.52% compared to the first nine months of 2024), and in the counties of Ilfov (6,759, +27.38%), Cluj (5,340, +19.54%), Timis (5,099, +24.24%), Iasi (4,661, +29.76%), Brasov (3,819, +17.18%), and Dolj (3,667, +63.92%).
At the opposite end, the lowest number of registrations in the first nine months of this year was recorded in the counties of Covasna (621, +41.46% compared to the same period in 2024), Ialomita (704, +21.17%), Teleorman (743, +24.87%), Mehedinti (769, +16.52%) and Tulcea (798, +44.04%).
All counties saw increases in the number of registrations, with the highest growth recorded in Alba (+64.77%), Dolj (+63.92%), Braila (+46.79%) and Tulcea (+44.04%).
According to the ONRC, the areas with the most registrations were: wholesale and retail trade (18,223), transport and storage (17,028), professional, scientific and technical activities (10,869) and construction (10,513).
In September 2025, a number of 14,810 natural and legal persons were registered, most of them in Bucharest (3,366) and in the counties of Ilfov (853), Cluj (742), Iasi (629) and Timis (581).
