Friday is the last day on which the 17 candidates competing for the post of General Mayor of the Capital can present their electoral platform to the people of Bucharest.

The electoral campaign began on 22 November and ends on Saturday at 7:00.

Over the two weeks the candidates have tried to convince voters to give them their vote on Sunday.

In the final week of the campaign two competitors announced their support for other candidates. These are Vlad Gheorghe and Eugen Orlando Teodorovici, two candidates who entered the race as independents. The former asked voters to stamp their ballots on Sunday for Ciprian Ciucu (PNL) while Teodorovici told his supporters that Daniel Baluta (PSD) deserves to occupy the seat at the helm of the Bucharest City Hall.

From the start of the electoral campaign until its end only certain types of activities and campaign materials are permitted, such as electoral posters, audio or video campaign materials broadcast by audiovisual media under the conditions of the law, advertising in the written press, online electoral materials, brochures, leaflets and other printed materials of the same category.

During the campaign it is forbidden to use discriminatory messages or slogans, messages that incite hatred and intolerance and any forms, means, acts and actions of religious or ethnic defamation and incitement.

At the same time, under the law it is forbidden to use vehicles bearing campaign slogans or images of candidates as well as other references to electoral competitors, to use vehicles that broadcast audio materials while moving or stationary, to organise shows, celebrations, fireworks, to use banners, mesh banners, advertising tents, advertising pavilions, mobile billboards, advertising flags, gable wall adverts, advertising screens, directional advertising signs, free-standing advertising structures, advertising media, billboards, special advertising projects, illuminated advertising.

On the day before the vote and on election day political advertising and electoral campaign materials of any kind in the building of the polling station in the municipality of Bucharest and on that building will be removed.

It is forbidden to continue electoral campaigning after the end of the electoral campaign.

Between the end of the electoral campaign and the end of voting it is forbidden to present opinion polls by any means. On election day it is forbidden to present exit polls before the close of voting.

The order on the ballot paper for Sunday's elections is as follows:

Position 7 - Gheorghe Macovei - Greater Romania Party
Position 8 - Oana Cretu - United Social Democratic Party
Position 9 - Mihai-Ioan Lasca - Romanian People's Patriots
Position 10 - Rares Lazar - Romania in Action Party
