Passenger traffic reached 2.99 million on the Bucharest airports in the first three months of the year and 32,098 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs), according to a press release of the National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB).
"The National Company Bucharest Airports recorded 2.99 million passengers and 32,098 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs) in the first quarter of 2019 on the Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest and the Aurel Vlaicu Bucharest-Baneasa International Airport. The Henri Coanda International Airport recorded 2,990,429 passengers, up 8.5 per cent from the same period last year, and 27,079 aircraft movements respectively, up 3.6 per cent against the first quarter of 2018," said the same source.
The Aurel Vlaicu Bucharest-Baneasa International Airport welcomed 6,149 passengers, up 49 per cent compared with the same interval of 2018 with 5,019 aircraft movements, by 89.1 per cent more.
The Henri Coanda International Airport currently works with 57 airlines carrying passengers to 128 destinations.
The Aurel Vlaicu Bucharest-Baneasa International Airport started its activity on February 5, 2019, ensuring the operational coordination and the management of the two airports in the Capital City. CNAB was set up by merger of the companies managing the Bucharest airports: The Henri Coanda International Airport and the Aurel Vlaicu Bucharest-Baneasa International Airport.
