Bucharest has enormous potential, unlike any other city in Romania, and a mayor general can let "the energies of Bucharesters, of entrepreneurs" be put to good use, the president of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan declared on Thursday, noting that attention to detail is needed.
Bolojan participated in the presentation of the program of the PNL candidate for Bucharest mayor, Ciprian Ciucu - "Bucharest put in order".
The PNL leader appreciated that Ciucu came with a "serious, fundamental program", confirming once again through the things he did in sector 6.
According to him, Ciucu was one of the mayors who had "the courage to take over abandoned spaces and put them in order".
In his opinion, Bucharest has enormous potential and there are many investors who want to do projects.
"I think it is very important to understand that Bucharest has an enormous potential that no other city in Romania has. Think about it, when you are making decisions in the capital, here you just have to let people showcase their creativity. In a small city (...) if you are mayor you have to be very careful how you work with investors, to facilitate any kind of investment, because the cost-benefit analysis shows that it is not very profitable and you have to come to compensate for the lack of attractiveness. But the capital of our country has enormous potential, it is an extraordinary city. Think about it, when you are in front of the Athénée Palace, in the area of the Athenaeum, of the Royal Palace, you could have there not a car park, there should be an underground parking lot and a pedestrian area that connects them. all. But in Bucharest, if you unleash the energy of investors, you will surely find people to build parking lots," Bolojan argued.
The PNL president also mentioned that a mayor general should "let the energies of Bucharesters, of entrepreneurs" be put to good use.
"Bucharest's energies are enormous. I think of the areas where, if you allowed investors to do urban regeneration with the support of the City Hall, they would change these areas. We are not very far from the Romexpo area, which has extraordinary potential, if it were to be valued, we could see an extraordinary business center developing in this area. And I think that this is what a general mayor can do, to let the energies of Bucharesters, of entrepreneurs, of the people of Bucharest be valued, because it is not a city hall that changes a city, I have said this before, but people and companies that change a city. But the City Hall or the Government, in the case of a country, create conditions for people to change things more quickly or block them and do not create conditions for them", added Ilie Bolojan.
