The Department for Romanians Abroad (DRP) launched, on Wednesday, the non-reimbursable financing session for 2026, which includes seven financing programs.
Associations, foundations, religious institutions, non-governmental organizations of Romanians abroad, authorized individuals or legal entities under public or private law from Romania or abroad can submit financing applications and related documents according to the specifications in the 2026 Financing Guide.
The Guide includes seven financing programs: Education, Culture, Civil Society, Mass Media, Spirituality and Tradition, Community and Sports.
"This year, we are opening the funding session with seven programs dedicated to Romanian communities abroad, aimed at supporting cultural identity, Romanian language education and involvement in community life. Sport completes this year's series of actions that can bring Romanians closer to each other, through real connections between generations and communities, contributing to strengthening unity and maintaining a close bond with Romania," said Cristina Arnautu, acting director of the Department for Romanians Abroad, quoted in the press release.
Within the 2026 funding session, an applicant can submit a maximum of two projects, provided that they fall under different programs, according to the project's purpose and objectives, the cited source informs.
The deadline for submitting funding applications will be announced on the DRP website, at least 5 working days before the closing of the submission phase.
All funding applications will be evaluated in compliance with the relevant legal provisions and within the allocated budget.
"Funding applications must be sent in PDF format, to the email address proiecte@dprp.gov.ro. Each annex must be attached as a single PDF document, named as such (for example, Statut.PDF). Other formats (JPEG, PNG, etc.) are not accepted. After sending the aforementioned documents by email, the applicant will be notified of the application registration number. Subsequently, the project manager may request, by email, additional documents or clarifications, depending on the specifics of the project, to which the applicant is obliged to respond within 5 working days at most. Funding applications are evaluated periodically, and the results of the evaluation will be published on the DRP website," the press release reads.
At the same time, in order to facilitate the process of setting up the file, the Department for Romanians Everywhere makes available to those interested the 2026 Non-Reimbursable Financing Guide, along with the documents of interest, in editable format, which can be downloaded from the DRP website, at the following link: https://dprp.gov.ro/ro/finantare/departamentul-pentru-romanii-de-pretutindeni-lanseaza-sesiunea-de-finantare-nerambursabila-2026/.
