PM Bolojan to pay visit to Germany; to meet Chancellor Friedrich Merz

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will pay an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on Tuesday and Wednesday, during which he will be welcomed by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and will hold talks with him.

The visit agenda also includes meetings with representatives of the Federal Parliament (Bundestag), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of German Industries, the Central Council of Jews in Germany, as well as representatives of the Romanian community organisations in Germany.

Thus, on Tuesday afternoon, the Prime Minister will meet Peter Adrian, President of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to the visit agenda.

On Wednesday morning, the Romanian Prime Minister is scheduled to have meetings with President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany Josef Schuster and with Vice-President of the German Bundestag Andrea Lindholz.

Later in the visit, the head of the Executive in Bucharest will meet President of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, leader of the CDU Parliamentary Group Jens Spahn, and will attend a working lunch together with President of the Federation of German Industries Tanja Gonner.

On Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, together with members of the Romanian delegation, will be received at the Federal Chancellery by Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The talks between the two senior officials will be followed by a joint press conference.

The Romanian Prime Minister will then lay a wreath at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and will visit the memorial, where he will also meet Director of the Foundation of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe Uwe Neumarker.

Continuing the agenda, Prime Minister Bolojan is scheduled to have meetings with members of Parliament's Committee on European Affairs and subsequently with representatives of Romanian community organisations at the Romanian Embassy in Berlin.

The Prime Minister is to be accompanied on the visit to Germany, among others, by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Radu Miruta, MP Ovidiu Gant, Chief of the Defence Staff General Gheorghita Vlad, Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery Mihai Jurca and Romania's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Adriana-Loreta Stanescu.
