It is imperative for state authorities to work together with the civil society for managing the situation of the refugee from Ukraine, PM Nicolae Ciuca said, during a meeting with the civil society and international organizations involved in managing the Ukrainian refugee crisis, the Government informs, in a press release.

The meeting, where Ministry representatives took part, such as state councilor Madalina Turza and the head of the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) Raed Arafat, was aimed at integrating the authorities' efforts with those of the civil society, through dialogue and coordination regarding the necessities in the field and implementation of an efficient work mode.

"After three difficult weeks, three weeks of war and managing its implications, we must appreciate the efforts made by the civil society in offering support. It is imperative to work together, to adapt and identify new work modes, which will help us manage this situation. Today's discussion with factors involved from the Government and ministries, but also institutions and NGOs help us evaluate the efficiency of mechanism that we established and implementation lines. It is clear that this war will have effects not just over the border countries, but there will be effects on everything that involves the economic activity of the entire continent and the world. It is important to be prepared in managing these negative effects," Nicolae Ciuca declared, quoted in the press release.

Furthermore, the PM made an appeal for the collaboration and active involvement of the local public administration and highlighted the need to smooth over practices and procedures for all counties, in order to cover the needs that appeared in many border crossing points that are currently being crossed by Ukrainian refugees.

According to the press release, given the evolution of refugee flows, coordination methods were evaluated for ensuring medium and long term protective measures, such as jobs, accommodation, or in the case of young students, to be registered to higher learning.

Also, the topic of support for non-government organizations was also tackled, in the context of partnership with state institutions for supporting and facilitating access to services adapted to the needs of Ukrainian refugees.
