The partnership relation between Romania and the US, namely our country's further promotion of a positive transatlantic agenda during the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council represented the main topic of discussion which took place on Monday between Prime Minister Viorica Dancila and United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin.
"Within the meeting, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila reconfirmed the special attention Romania's Government pays to the development of the Strategic Partnership with the US, as a main pillar of the foreign and security policy. At the same time, she underscored the intention to intensify the bilateral cooperation on all the Partnership's dimensions and, especially, the economic one. Moreover, the Executive head highlighted Romania's particular profile, a state dedicated to the partnership relation with the United States of America, as well as to the European project. In this context, she showed that Romania will further promote a positive transatlantic agenda during the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council, wishing to contribute to the consolidation of this tie, which it considers vital to both the European continent and the US," a Government press release mentions.
