Romania's Prime Minister Viorica Dancila attended a business forum held in Muscat, Oman on Monday, where she said that Romania has an attractive business environment, improved by recent legislative changes.
According to a press statement released by the government, at the beginning of the event Dancila pointed out that, as a member state of the EU, Romania is interested in establishing strong commercial bridges between the European Union and the Arab Gulf states that will enjoy a robust foundation to expand bilateral relations.
"The head of the government presented the important investment opportunities offered by Romania, know-how in areas such as agriculture, tourism, transport, education, health, research and innovation and showed that Romania has an attractive business environment, improved by recent legislative changes, such as those in the law on public-private partnerships."
Dancila also voiced satisfaction with the latest positive developments in the relations between Romania and Oman, and the firm desire to stimulate dialogue on all levels of interest.
She referenced the need to develop economic relations between the two countries that will lead to visible results and increased trade.
She underscored the need to promote an active and transparent dialogue between the business communities in the two countries, buttressed by the chambers of commerce and industry, and thanked for the large presence of Oman's business community in the forum.
The event brought together members of the Omani government, chairs of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Special Economic Zone Duqm Authority, the Public Investment Promotion and Export Development Authority, as well as 20 prestigious Omani companies interested in developing economic cooperation with partners in Romania.
