Prime Minister Mihai Tudose said Friday that he is politically appointed to office and he will leave office under a political decision or he will resign when he thinks he cannot carry out the government programme. He was asked by journalists at the end of a meeting of the National Executive Committee (CExN) of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) if he was afraid he will meet the same fate as his predecessor Sorin Grindeanu, who was ousted under a non-confidence vote, once he publicly launched the topic of Cabinet reshuffle.
"Fate. What was his fate? I told you that as far back as the first day that my first day in office is also one of my last days in the Government; that this was not an office for people to retire from. I've said it before, and I say it once again: I am politically appointed and I'll go under a political decision or when I think I can no achieve gov't programme that made the Romanians vote for us," Tudose said.
Asked if he has anything to reproach Tudose of, Dragnea said: "Yes, he is taller than me and I cannot be seen from the microphones." "I cannot say that he is right completely, because he is not taller, but things are as we've decided: all I'm still the taller. Let us say it again: Mr Dragnea is the chairman of the party and the government is a political government. (...) There were tensions building up also because there was no dialogue. It was found in recent days that dialogue is the way and, above all, sincerity toward others and versus those trying to add fuel to the fire (...) with a determination worthy of a better cause," Tudose said.
