President Nicusor Dan said on Friday that a drone detected in Romania's national airspace had been shot down by a Romanian pilot flying an F-16 aircraft, according to Agerpres.
"We had a drone in our airspace; it was shot down a few minutes ago, at around 11:00, by a Romanian pilot flying an F-16. It is important to emphasise that the area was uninhabited, which is also why the pilot was able to fire from above. Teams from the relevant institutions are now investigating in order to provide all the details about the incident," the President said.
