Romania's expertise in the Black Sea region and Australia's experience in the Indo-Pacific can create new opportunities for the two countries' cooperation and exchange of best practices, President Nicusor Dan said on Monday, as he met at the Cotroceni Palace with an Australian parliamentary delegation led by Milton Dick, Speaker of Australia's House of Representatives.
"In the current global context, marked by transformations and challenges, it is essential that states like ours, which share the same democratic values and a common vision of the international order, develop their bilateral relations through concrete and sustainable projects. We had substantial talks that focused on expanding cooperation between Romania and Australia in the areas of security, energy and countering hybrid threats," President Nicusor Dan wrote on Facebook, adding that during the meeting he underscored that stimulating Australian investments in Romania represents an important step in this direction.
"We also encourage the opening of a diplomatic representation in Bucharest. Romania's expertise in the Black Sea region and Australia's experience in the Indo-Pacific can create new opportunities for cooperation and exchange of best practices between our countries," President Nicusor Dan said.
