President Nicusor Dan stated that he has more materials related to Calin Georgescu, in order to clarify what happened in the presidential elections, claiming that Russian interference is much better documented at this point.

"We have collected a lot of materials, of course it was one of the promises we made in the campaign that we would clarify what happened in the elections of November-December last year. We have collected a lot of materials, including Mr. Georgescu's biography, including what was suspicious during the elections last year, and in the meantime we have documented Russian interference much better, so at the right time we will come out with a synthesis of all the materials," Nicusor Dan told Romania TV private television broadcaster.

Asked if the report would also include transcripts of the discussions of the country's leaders at the time they canceled the elections, the president replied: "Sure, if necessary, but I think that... as I see things today, at that time we had relatively limited knowledge about the phenomenon of Russian interference (...). The state institutions knew that there were some sites that propagated some information that they, I would say, believed could not influence more than 4-5-6% of the Romanian public, certainly not the result that we all saw. At the moment, compared to the discussions they had then, things are much clearer. That is, we have reports from many European countries with very solid intelligence services that say that there is a phenomenon of manipulation, systematic disinformation, by Russia in Europe. We have many examples of cyber actions, manipulation, and disinformation."

Nicusor Dan added that many of the things that at that time seemed like hypotheses have since been proven to be exactly that, and "the decision of the Constitutional Court and the conclusion of the CSAT were perfectly justified."

"I am much more interested, and I think it is also interesting for Romania, in the biography of this character. I would like to know how was he able to spend several years in Vienna and do nothing. That is, there are some things that a normal person (...), normal people can't do this, they can't spend several years doing nothing," emphasised Nicusor Dan.

The president claims that "there is not necessarily an excessive attraction or sympathy for either Mr. Georgescu or for these opposition groups," but for many Romanians there is a distrust in the Romanian state, in the authorities of the Romanian state.

"And then all these people try to look at who seems to be the alternative, who has promoted himself better to be the alternative and Mr. Georgescu, beyond all the things I have said or not said, has promoted himself very well," the president said.
