President Iohannis welcomes ambassadors of Algeria, Qatar, Moldova to Romania, for letters of credence presentation

President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday welcomed, at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, the ambassadors of Algeria, Qatar and the Republic of Moldova to Romania, on which occasion the latter presented their letters of credence.

"The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, received on Tuesday, at the Cotroceni Palace, the approved ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Romania, Menad Habbak, the approved ambassador of the State of Qatar in Romania, Osama Yousef AA Alqaradawi, and the approved ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania, Victor Chirila. President Klaus Iohannis wished the new ambassadors success in fulfilling their mandate, assuring them of the full support of the Romanian authorities in this regard," reads a press release sent to AGERPRES by the Presidential Administration.

According to the same source, during the meeting with the ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Menad Habbak, Iohannis highlighted the good level of the bilateral relationship between the two countries, in the context of this year's 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and Algeria.

"President Klaus Iohannis underscored the interest in relaunching political dialogue as well as in strengthening economic relations and sectoral cooperation in areas of common interest. The Algerian ambassador appreciated the very good bilateral relationship between the two states and the interest in expanding and diversifying Romanian-Algerian cooperation, especially in the field of agriculture and information technology," reads the press release.

During his talks with Qatar Ambassador Osama Yousef A. A. Alqaradawi, President Iohannis welcomed the very good status of the political and diplomatic dialogue and reaffirmed Romania's interest in deepening it.

"During the meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, Victor Chirila, the President of Romania evoked the sustained and substantial bilateral political dialogue of the last period, which offers the opportunity of an applied and comprehensive approach to the sectoral agenda and the establishment of solid benchmarks for advancing common priority projects. President Klaus Iohannis reaffirmed Romania's commitment to give full support to the Chisinau Government's transformation, modernization and implementation of reforms, in the spirit of the Strategic Partnership for European Integration between the two states. Moreover, they evoked the future joint meeting of the two countries governments, which will take place in the next period to focus, with concrete cooperation decisions and solutions, on the common priority areas and projects," informs the Presidential Administration, Agerpres informs.
