President Nicusor Dan laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero in Warsaw on Thursday.

In the afternoon, the head of state meets with the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (the equivalent of the President of the Chamber of Deputies), Wlodzimierz Czarzasty, and with the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska.

Nicusor Dan will also have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, and will participate in the event organized by the Polish-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the occasion of the Romanian-Polish Solidarity Day.

President Nicusor Dan is visiting Poland, at the invitation of his counterpart, Karol Nawrocki, who received him with military honors at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

According to the Presidential Administration, the theme of European security was a main topic of discussion, in the context of the risks generated by the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine and the conflicts in the Middle East. The best ways to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of security and the defense industry were discussed, as well as at the multilateral level, within the framework offered by the Bucharest Format 9, the next meeting of which will take place this year in Bucharest in May.

The Romanian President's delegation includes presidential advisors Marius Lazurca, Vlad Ionescu, Valentin Naumescu, Diana Punga, Ramona Dinu and Diana Iancu, as well as MP Ghervazen Longher, representative of the Union of Poles in Romania.

President Nicusor Dan is accompanied on this visit by his life partner, Mirabela Gradinaru.
