Romanian President Nicusor Dan will pay an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on Friday, July 18.
Nicusor Dan will be given a military welcome, and will hold talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the latter's official residence at Berlin's Bellevue Palace, shows the agenda posted on the website of the German Presidency, agerpres reports.
Next, Nicusor Dan will meet Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz for discussions regarding mainly bilateral, European and security policy topics, the German Chancellery said in a release.
This year, Romania and the Federal Republic of Germany mark 145 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Germany is Romania's leading trading partner, accounting for 19.82% of the foreign trade overall, respectively 20.95% of Romania's exports and 18.98% of its imports (as of October 31, 2024), according to the Foreign Ministry's website.
