President Nicusor Dan will hold consultations on Monday at Cotroceni Palace with the leaders of pro-European parties on the SAFE and PNRR programmes, the Presidential Administration announced on Sunday.

The meeting will bring together the leaders of the Social Democratic Party, the National Liberal Party, the Save Romania Union, the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania, and the parliamentary group of national minorities.

The agenda will focus on the implementation of major programmes for Romania - SAFE and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the cited source said.

"I will continue to exercise my role as mediator. Accordingly, I have invited on Monday the leaders of the four pro-European political parties and the leader of the parliamentary group of national minorities for a technical and practical discussion on major programmes for Romania, such as SAFE and the PNRR," Nicusor Dan wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

The invitation comes after the head of state signed the resignations of PSD ministers and the proposals for interim appointments in the government.

Following the political crisis triggered by the Social Democratic Party's withdrawal of support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, the president also held consultations last Wednesday at Cotroceni Palace with the ruling coalition parties. At the end of those talks, he said their representatives had expressed willingness to cooperate on key projects for Romania in the coming period - accession to the OECD, and the implementation of SAFE and PNRR.
