Over 108,000 voters went to the polls in the diaspora, until Friday at 5:00 p.m. (Romania's time), to vote in the second round of the presidential elections, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
According to the AEP, since the opening of the polls, namely on Thursday evening, 10:00 p.m., Romania's time, and until Friday at 5:00 p.m., 108,704 Romanian citizens went to the polls.
Also, 3,139 voters voted by correspondence, the total number of votes cast abroad currently being 111,843.
The most Romanian voters were in the Republic of Moldova - 19,769, Italy - 15,930, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 15,854, Germany - 14,035, Spain - 11,874.

Voting in the diaspora in the presidential elections takes place over three days, from Friday to Sunday:
* Friday, May 16, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local time);
* Saturday, May 17, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local time);
* Sunday, May 18, between 7:00 (local time) and 21:00 (Romanian time).
Romanian citizens who are abroad on election day can vote in the 965 polling stations in the diaspora organized for this year's presidential elections, regardless of whether or not they have their domicile or residence outside the country.
