As of 16:00hrs EEST on Sunday, 6,461,593 voters voted in the first round of the presidential election rerun, making up 35.92% of the number of the voters on the electoral rolls, according to data provided in real time by the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP), informs Agerpres.
In urban areas, 3,974,277 voters voted, and in rural areas, 2,487,316 voters.
As many as 74,262 voters used the mobile ballot box.
Of the 6,461,593 voters who voted as of 16:00hrs, 5,715,830 voted in the country, namely 31.78%, and 745,763 voted abroad.
Voting abroad started on Friday at 07:00hrs, local, and will end on Sunday at 21:00hrs, EEST.
High voter turnouts were recorded in the counties:
* Ilfov - 43.77% of the total voters on rolls;
* Arges - 37.82%;
* Giurgiu - 36.82%;
* Constanta - 35.94%;
* Cluj - 35.72%.
Low voter turnouts were recorded in the following counties:
* Vaslui - 22.13% of the total voters on rolls;
* Satu Mare - 23.61%;
* Covasna - 25.26%;
* Harghita - 26.98%.
* Botosani - 27.22%. .
In Bucharest, the voter turnout was 33.76% as follows:
* Sector 1 - 38.60%;
* Sector 2 - 34.85%;
* Sector 3 - 28.24%;
* Sector 4 - 35.11%;
* Sector 5 - 31.46%;
* Sector 6 - 37.74%.

In 2024, in the first round of the presidential election, which was later cancelled, the turnout was 36.76% on Sunday at 16:00hrs.
