Voting in the diaspora is taking place in good conditions and there were no malfunctions within the polling stations, no crowds or incidents, and the electoral process is taking place in full legality and transparency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Saturday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that voting abroad in the second round of the presidential elections is taking place under good conditions in all 965 polling stations outside the country.
"There were no malfunctions at the polling stations, no crowds or incidents, and the electoral process is taking place in full legality and transparency," a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.
According to Law No. 370/2004 and Government Emergency Ordinance No. 1/2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken the necessary logistical measures so that Romanian voters abroad can freely exercise their right to vote, a fundamental expression of democracy and the constitutional right to choose, the cited source states.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalls that in the presidential elections, all Romanian citizens with the right to vote who are abroad can vote in the polling stations organized outside the country, based on an identity document issued by the Romanian authorities and within the validity period.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalls the importance of respecting all legal provisions regarding participation in the voting process. In this regard, information regarding the legal framework for holding elections abroad can be accessed through the MFA website (https://www.mae.ro/node/66216).
