Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan met on Tuesday at Victoria Palace of Government with an Atlantic Council delegation, one of the best-known strategic analysis organisations in the United States, the government said in a press release.

Deputy Prime Minister Catalin Predoiu and the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Mihai Jurca, also participated in the discussions, agerpres reports.

The Atlantic Council was represented by President and CEO of the Atlantic Council Frederick Kempe, Alexandru Serban, president of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Romania, and Landon Derentz, senior director of the Global Energy Centre.

According to the Executive, the discussions focused on issues related to regional security, transatlantic cooperation, strengthening the strategic partnership between Romania and the United States, as well as energy security issues.

The meeting took place in the context of the official launch of the Atlantic Council Romania office in Bucharest, marking the expansion of the organisation's institutional presence in Central and Eastern Europe and the strengthening of the US-Romania strategic dialogue.
