The representatives of miners and energy workers who are protesting in front of the Government on Wednesday were invited to talks with the secretaries from the ministries of labour and energy, but they refused, the spokesman of the Executive, Mihai Constantin, said, informs Agerpres.
He specified that the protesters announced that they would submit a memorandum to the registry office.
"Today's protesters in Piata Victoriei were invited to discussions with the secretaries of state from the ministries of labour and energy and at the level of advisor to the prime minister, but, to our surprise or at least mine, they refused. They said that they will finish their protest by the time they have approval and then they will submit a memorandum to the registry office. We are waiting for it, we are reading it, we are reacting," said Mihai Constantin, during a press conference at the Victoria Palace.
In the context in which the miners' representatives would have announced that they want to meet the prime minister, Mihai Constantin replied that Marcel Ciolacu was present at the Government meeting. He added that even if the prime minister had attended the meeting, he would have been accompanied by the same experts who showed their willingness to talk with the protesters.
Hundreds of miners and energy workers rallied on Wednesday in a protest in front of the Romanian government's offices, dissatisfied with the recalculation of their pensions, but also with the situation in the energy system.
