Incumbent Bucharest District 5 Mayor Cristian Popescu Piedone running for Bucharest general mayor on the tickets of the Humanist Social Liberal Party (PUSL) voted on Sunday morning saying at the exit of the polling station that he will try to normalise what did not happen in Bucharest in 30 years.
"I, the last dinosaur, will try to normalise what did not happen in Bucharest in 30 years: bringing a smile to the faces of the people of Bucharest. Simple things. But, unfortunately, the simple things for certain politicians are the most complex," said Piedone, at the Ienachita Vacarescu Secondary School, where he cast his ballot in the local and European elections.
He urged the people of Bucharest to show up and vote.
"Voter turnout matters (...) Vote with dignity, honour and courage for your future," said the mayor.
Piedone was accompanied to the vote by his son, Vlad Popescu Piedone, who is running for the office of Bucharest District 5 mayor l.
