The Natural Disaster Insurance Pool (PAID) opened on Monday, 12 January 2026, registrations for the fifth edition of the ReExpozitia photographic competition, a project that brings to the forefront the repeated effects of earthquakes, floods and landslides on homes and communities in Romania.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, the competition takes the form of a photography contest based on real images captured in areas affected by earthquakes, floods or landslides, aiming to turn visual documentation into a tool for responsibility and prevention.

'ReExpozitia is part of our efforts to talk about natural disasters in a way that truly reaches people. Photography has the ability to capture reality as it is and to convey, beyond figures and explanations, the concrete impact of these events on each of our lives. We appreciate that this initiative has attracted constant interest from one edition to the next and that, through the power of images, we manage to reach more and more Romanians and thus raise the level of awareness regarding risks and the importance of preparedness,' said Nicoleta Radu, Chief Executive Officer of PAID Romania, as quoted in the release.

The competition is open to both professional photographers and enthusiasts, who are invited to capture through images the reality of natural disasters and their effects on communities. The submitted photographs are expected to document not only visible destruction but also the context in which it occurs, as part of an effort to inform and raise public awareness, the document further reads.

Entries are open between 12 January 2026 and 15 February 2026 and participants will compete for prizes offered by the organiser, with a total value of 5,000 euros. For the second consecutive year, the competition also includes a section dedicated to children, who can participate by submitting an illustration, drawing, painting or photograph accompanied by a creative text, on the theme of rebuilding homes following a natural disaster, whether earthquakes, landslides or floods. For this category, three prizes will be awarded, each worth 200 euros.
