The ruling coalition's nominee for the position of Ombudsman, Renate Weber, on Wednesday got the nod of the Parliament's plenary meeting for the office.
Weber's bid got 208 favorable votes and 134 against.
Her counter candidates were Peter Eckstein-Kovacs, backed by the opposition's National Liberal Party, the Save Romania Union and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania, who obtained 109 favorable votes and 233 against and Catalin Voinea Mic, backed by the People's Movement Party, who was rejected by a vote of 16 to 326.
